In the normal course of business, we will collect both personal information about you and non-personal
information associated with you. We will always endeavor to protect this information, hold it in confidence,
and protect it from theft. In general, we utilize both non-personal and personally identifiable information
that you provide to us or that we collect in the normal course of business to communicate with you about our
service and product offerings and deliver those offerings in an efficient manner. For these purposes, JSF
employees or authorized contractors and third-party agents will have access to some or all of this non-personal
and personally identifiable information.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the information you provide or that is associated with you is never
shared with anyone other than JSF employees or authorized contractors and agents. JSF never trades or sells
your information except as provided in this policy.

Information submitted to this site may be colelcted and stored according to JSF data rentention policies. We use this information to for our
undergraduate nomination and graduate application processing, volunteer support, site troubleshooting, and general communications. Submitted information
may be made available to JSF employees and volunteers responsible for administering our selection processes.

We may share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of JSF if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

Protecting Your Personal Information
JSF safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic, administrative and managerial procedures. Likewise, we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. These precautions include changing your password often, using an updated browser over a secured network connection, and not storing passwords in easily accessible areas.
This site uses at least SSL v3 and TLS v1 encryption on all web pages. This helps protect the confidentiality of its users when transmitted over the Internet.

To review and update your personal contact information, log in and select the appropriate option under the “Menu” option. We encourage you to review your information regularly to keep the information current. You may also write to firstname.lastname@example.org to have the information updated.
Newsletters and Promotional Emails
If you no longer wish to receive communications from JSF, you may opt-out of receiving them by accessing your preferences by logging into the JSF website and updating your information as described in the previous paragraph.
JSF provides this website as a convenient method for constituents to maintain connections, update and obtain information about the selection processes, and other JSF business. Every effort is made to ensure that all information appearing here is timely and accurate. However, this information is subject to change and JSF will not be held responsible for any errors.

From time to time, JSF may request information from constituents via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and responses are kept strictly confidential. Survey information is used to monitor or improve JSF selection processes and services.
When needed, routine maintenance of the JSF websites may occurs between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Maintenance is occasionally necessary at other times. JSF will post an announcement on the website if the maintenance window will impact website availability by more than 15 minutes.

Statement Regarding International Privacy Rights
JSF complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield principles and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. JSF adheres to the international privacy principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement.
When we receive formal written complaints about our compliance with our privacy policies, including the Safe Harbor Frameworks, we will contact the person who made the complaint to follow up. We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that we cannot resolve with our users directly.
